Wood, fruitchest, acrylic paint
and handpainted letters.

The port as a border crossing,
a step into another world.
But also a meeting point,
people passing each other and
say “bonjour”. The port offers the
possibility to sit down. Hide from
the rain or the sun, and at the
same time have a chat.
For this sculpture I used a great
part of my fruit-chest-wood
collection. Hidden in this
collection are hand painted boards
with the translation word
BONJOUR in 50 different languages.
